A Guided Inner Journey

Seeing the Stories You Inherited — & Choosing What You Believe Now

A private, reflective experience based on the SCRIPT Reset Framework. Separate learned beliefs from your true identity, understand what they once protected, and gently choose a more supportive truth.

✦ A Gentle Note Before We Begin This is a reflective practice, not therapy. Pause if overwhelming distress, panic, or trauma memories arise. You do not need to revisit painful memories to complete this work. A qualified trauma-informed professional can support you more safely.

Before You Begin

Arrive with Curiosity

"I am not judging the person I became. I am becoming curious about what she learned."

Choose one belief or pattern at a time. You do not need to uncover every painful memory. Only the one that is ready to be seen.

2
Recognize the Area of the Script

Where Does the Pressure Live?

Inherited scripts often cluster in specific areas of life. Choose the area where you notice the most pressure, shame, silence, or self-doubt.

🌿

Body & Appearance

Beliefs about how you must look to feel worthy or desirable.

🕯️

Desire & Pleasure

Beliefs about what a "good woman" should or shouldn't want.

🎐

Voice & Communication

Beliefs about whether your needs are too much or too complicated.

🛡️

Boundaries & Consent

Beliefs about saying no, changing your mind, and honoring your comfort.

💛

Worth & Relationships

Beliefs about having to earn love by being easy, useful, or agreeable.

My Own Script

A belief not listed — one that lives only in your story.

3
S — Spot the Sentence

What Does the Old Voice Say?

Scripts hide in half-finished sentences. Write them down — as clearly as possible. Naming is the first step of unraveling.

"I learned to believe that..."
"A woman should always..."
"To be loved, I must..."
"If I express what I truly need..."
✦ Why This Matters Writing the sentence out loud removes its invisible power. You cannot rewrite a belief you cannot yet see.
4
C — Connect It to a Source

Where Did This Come From?

You do not need to blame anyone or discover one perfect origin. Simply notice the soil this belief grew in.

Family messages
Cultural expectations
Religious or spiritual teaching
School or peers
Social media & media
A former relationship
A current relationship
A painful experience
Lack of accurate education
5
R — Recognize Its Former Protection

What Was It Trying to Protect?

Every inherited script once had a job. It helped someone avoid pain, criticism, rejection, or embarrassment. Honor that protection — without surrendering your future to it.

Avoid criticism
Prevent conflict
Gain approval
Feel accepted
Protect my privacy
Avoid rejection
Keep a relationship
Hide uncertainty
Feel safer
Meet family expectations
✦ A Reframe "This pattern may have helped me survive or belong. I can appreciate its purpose without allowing it to control every choice I make now."
6
I — Identify the Current Cost

What Is This Belief Costing You Today?

The protection came with a price. Naming the cost is not about shame — it is about clarity.

Harsh self-talk
Body shame
Anxiety or overthinking
Emotional numbness
Difficulty recognizing my needs
Confusion about desire
Fear of disappointing others
Disconnection from my body
Saying yes before checking how I feel
Staying silent and becoming resentful
Avoiding honest conversations
Pretending to be comfortable
Difficulty receiving care
Fear of setting boundaries
Feeling responsible for others' emotions
Treating intimacy like a performance
7
Separate Values from Shame

What Is Yours to Keep?

An inherited message may contain a value you still cherish. The goal is not to reject your past — it is to distinguish a consciously chosen value from a shame-based rule.

Chosen Value Shame-Based Rule
"Privacy is meaningful to me.""My body and questions are dirty."
"Commitment matters to me.""I must agree to keep love."
"I prefer to move slowly.""My pace is a defect."
"I care about others' feelings.""Their feelings matter more than my safety."
8
Practice a Believable Replacement

Build a Bridge, Not a Leap

Do not replace a painful belief with a statement that feels impossible. Choose a new belief that feels slightly kinder and more believable — a bridge, not a leap.

✦ Examples of Believable Bridges • "I am learning to treat my body with less hostility."
• "My needs can be expressed clearly and respectfully."
• "I am allowed to need more time."
• "Not knowing is a valid starting point."
• "A safe relationship makes room for an honest no."

Take One Aligned Action

A Belief Grows Stronger When Practiced

A new belief is only a thought until it is paired with a small, observable behavior. Choose one tiny action that supports your bridge sentence.

Ask for more time without apologizing
Say, "I am not sure yet"
Say, "I want to pause"
Express one preference
Keep one clear boundary
Notice sensation instead of judging appearance
Unfollow shame-intensifying content
Ask for affection without expectation
Schedule appropriate support
Write one honest sentence in my journal
10
Prepare the Words

Your Sentence for the Vulnerable Moment

Write one sentence you can practice before a vulnerable moment. Say it aloud once. Then notice what happens in your body.

"I need more time."
"I want to slow down."
"I am not sure yet."
"I care about you, and this does not feel comfortable for me."
"I am learning what helps me feel safe and present."
"Please hear my boundary as honesty, not rejection."
"I do not know exactly what I want yet, but I want to understand it."

Closing Reflection

The Truth You Now Carry

Take one final breath. Review what you have named today.

✦ Closing Statement "A learned belief is not my identity. I can understand where it came from, respect what it once protected, and choose a different response now."
